The Founder and President of H&H Shooting Sports, Miles Hall, recently was able to direct some questions and concerns shared by many of us in the Shooting Sports community to some of the leaders within the firearms industry including Chris Hogdon from Hodgdon Powder Co, Jim Broering President and COO of AcuSport one of the nations largest distributors, and the CEO of Sturm, Ruger & Company, Mr. Mike Fifer. In his response Fifer wanted to pass along a reassurance to the millions of responsable gun owners.

We have not adjusted any prices. None.
We have not reduced our production rates; we’re still going at full throttle with lots and lots of overtime in the factories.”

His message is straight forward, Ruger stands with the Shooting Sports community and will not participate in price gouging or reduced production rates. They will continue to develop new and exciting firearms while continuing production on their current line. They will continue to rely on their strong distributor relationships to get their products to the dealers and ultimately to the consumers.
And speaking of distributors the word coming from AcuSport President and COO Jim Broering offers some insight into the state of the industry today.

As we hear the many unprofessional and ignorant comments about our Industry, I have sent a message to our employees encouraging them to stand proud of what we do and to continue along the path we have already set…helping our independent retailer succeed. We have not raised prices (we didn’t in 2008-09 as well) and encourage business practices that help our retailers work through the backside of this ‘surge’.”
